The Hostess SnoBall® Effect
While looking for a good deal on a case of my favorite snack cake, I came across a number of blogs, forums and photo essays on the SnoBall®. The Shops Rock!
There was a time the Shops at Willow Bend was a mall that was totally beyond the reach of the every day run of the mill Dallasite. And getting to it even from North Dallas seemed to take an eternity. Was like the annual field trip to Sandy Lake from Oak Cliff! But it’s actually a pretty nice mall.. that has something for every one, including working class moms. I can’t imagine that the rich and famous bother with checking out the “Offers” page on the Willow Bend website.. By the way, the mall is located in Plano, north of Addison, off the Dallas North Tollway, left @ Park then an immediate right. -Can’t miss it!

Grape and Walnut w Blue Cheese Salad
OMG! This is so delicious! I’ve bought pounds of it since I first discovered it a couple of months ago at Central Market. So I’m posting the ingredients. It’s $5.99 a pound when they have it. It’s so so delicious, and I want it so often, I’ve decided to make it myself and keep some on hand in my own frig!
CHEF’S PREPARED GRAPES & WALNUT & BLUE CHEESE SALAD ingredients:
- Seedless Red Grapes
- Seedless Green Grapes
- Blue Cheese
- Walnuts
- Nutra Clear (canola oil)
- White Balsamic Vinegar
- Honey
- Black Pepper
- Kosher Salt

ENJOY Your Salad!
Oh! Here’s another great (looking) salad with blue cheese and grapes and walnuts (yum!) from Find.myrecipes.com. PEAR, BLUE CHEESE & WALNUT SALAD WITH SMOKED TURKEY!
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups (2-inch) strips smoked turkey breast (about 10 ounces)
- 1 cup seedless red grapes, halved
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 2 large red Bartlett pears, thinly sliced
- 4 cups gourmet salad greens
- 1/4 cup (1 ounce) crumbled blue cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, and stir with a whisk. Add turkey, grapes, celery, and pears, tossing well to coat. Arrange 1 cup greens on each of 4 plates; divide grape mixture evenly over greens. Sprinkle each serving with 1 tablespoon cheese and 1 1/2 teaspoons walnuts.
